The 1,000 Spanish words audiobook is helping me to learn a lot of vocabulary words. The 99 Spanish conversations is also improving my vocabulary while improving my listening comprehension in Spanish. The 150 Spanish idioms is probably more for entertainment. I doubt that I will ever use these Spanish expressions but it is still great to know and understand them in case I ever hear a Spanish speaker say them.I don't think I'll be using what I am learning in the Romantic Spanish Words and Phrases audiobook. LOL. But still very fun to listen to. But I must say that I am really enjoying the Spanish blunders audiobook. I wish it was longer. The Spanish blunders audiobook is too short and left me wanting to hear more because it was so helpful in teaching me to avoid lots of Spanish mistakes that English speakers commonly make when speaking Spanish.Considering what I paid for the 9 audible books, I must say that I got my money's worth. By the way, I also have Patrick Jackson's Learn Beginner Spanish Bundle and I will say that this 3 in 1 audiobook (actually 9 in 1 audiobook) and Patrick Jackson's Learn Beginner Spanish Bundle work hand in hand.

Although the first book in this bundle is a book for learning Spanish words and phrases, in other words, a vocabulary builder, it's better than all or the majority of the other products I have bought that teach Spanish vocabulary words and phrases. What separates this one from the others is that not only is there a pause to repeat the Spanish word but there is also a pause to repeat the Spanish phrase.To most this probably sounds like a very small feature or a minor distinction from the other Spanish vocabulary audiobooks which do not have those pauses. But these small differences are helping me to correct my pronunciation in Spanish and make my Latin American Spanish accent sound so much better. The 99 Conversations Spanish audios and the Spanish idioms audios are extra-value-added bonuses for me. I'd be 100% satisfied with this audiobook even if it didn't include anything more than the 1,000 Spanish words and phrases audiobook.

I am very impressed with this audiobook. There is more than enough content to keep you busy for a while. In fact there are over 15 hours of recorded Spanish lessons, covering everything from the 1,000 most common Spanish words and phrases, 99 actual Spanish conversations, common Spanish expressions and sayings, Romantic words and phrases in Spanish. There are even tips on how to avoid common Spanish blunders. One thing that really stands out is that it has helped me with my pronunciation in Spanish.

The audiobook is a steal. Or as one would say in Spanish "un robo" (a steal) LOL. And I say that because there are so many audiobooks included. I really feel that I got my money's worth. Actually Iím still getting my money's worth since it will take me weeks or even months to finish all of these audiobooks. There is even a PDF (transcript) thatís included with the audiobook.

I am a Kieth Carter fan, but I can honestly say that this is truly an outstanding photography book. It is a compendium of 50 years of Carter's work. If you have other of his books you have probably seen many of these photos, but to have so many in one book and so large a format makes this book more that desirable for a collection.A little plug for Amazon here: I like the pre-order deal where you order before release date at a specific price, and if it goes lower before it is shipped you pay the new lower price, but if the price at release is higher you are only charged at the lower pre-order price. I pre-ordered this book from Amazon a month before it was released for $29.00. It is now about $41 on release and has an MSRP price in the dust jacket at $65.

It cost me $58 to buy the book but I only got $31 in return. Had I known that I would have kept the book & sold it myself! Bad show Amazon.

I’m a big fan of Keith’s photos, and this book is a great consummate volume of his work. I generally like the content, sequencing and introduction texts. Having said that, I feel a certain level of disappointment with this particular execution. The major issue that I see is in this book layout - some prints are stretched across two pages and sometimes with main subject in the gutter – for the book of this size that layout should not be used. Further, it seems that the publisher used different toning across the book without any specific context - some photos are extremely warm toned, others – cold. This is quite noticeable and disturbing, especially for the differently toned prints on the same page spread. Because of the above, this is not my favorite of Keith’s book in my small collection. I hope to see more!

This compilation of Carter’s work is brilliantly presented. Anyone who is already familiar with Carter’s work will be presently surprised by its presentation. Additionally, the essays provide an insightful view on the value of Carter’s career.

A truly amazing body of work that is filled with humanity and genius.

Love the book, love the photographer. Beautifully done and lots of new images.

About the Author

Zen priest Shunryu Suzuki-roshi was one of the most influential Zen teachers of his time. Suzuki-roshi and his students founded the San Francisco Zen Center, the Tassajara Zen Mountain Center (the first Zen training monastery in the West) and Green Gulch Farm Zen Center. Suzuki-roshi died in 1971. His students continue to teach at the Zen Center and in dharma groups around the country. Some of his edited talks have been collected in the books Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind and Not Always So.The Gitter-Yelen Art Study Center is dedicated to the study of Japanese art and American self-taught art. This private nonprofit foundation promotes appreciation and knowledge of the two art traditions through exhibitions and public programs.

This short is a prequel to The Darcy’s of Pemberley Book 1 of three books by Shannon Winslow.I almost didn't review this because it was so short. Also, I didn't feel that I could give the same number of stars that I would give a full book. I liked it and 3-stars says I liked it.I suppose the title sort of gives it away. We are at Hunsford Parsonage and Mr. Collins is enjoying his dinner [one that he finagled out of Lady Catherine], when he suddenly remembers his appointment with his patroness. So, after stuffing one more mouth full, he jumps up and… the rest they say, is history. It was a very short window of time. The story also carried over into the next book in Winslow’s series. This prequel story went into more depth and explained what happened in order to answer the questions posed in the following book.“Born merely for the purpose of digestion” Jean de la Bruyere

Perhaps this is not spectacular literature, but it is full and satisfying for Austen fans who yearn to see beyond the written territory to the logical extension of the characters' roles. This short story hooked me on Winslow's vision. The story plays out the lines started in Pride and Prejudice. I have been in the habit of replaying the 1995 A&E Pride and Prejudice DVDs on Saturday evenings and the sequels continue the characters' lives very handily. I found out what happened to Collins and Charlotte. I just had to see what else was in store. Winslow is very respectful of the Austen legacy and I am grateful for this. The Kindle price cannot be beaten either.

The only reason this is 4 stars instead of 5 is that it is so short. But the language and the portrayal of the characters is perfect. I had the picture of David Bamber (the Mr. Collins actor in the 1995 movie version) as he is stuffing his breakfast into his mouth while Lizzy prepares to take her morning walk. JUST AN EXCELLENT interpretation of how he reaches his demise. And also very well written as to how he obtained that leg of mutton to begin with - justice is served.The only sad part is how Mrs. Collins' view of marriage is now forever tainted by her "settling" for a safe marriage rather than one of love!This was a very short read but well worth it.

Mr. Collins is that annoying guy at work who pops up next to you when you least expect him. He lies in wait for you outside of the restroom, conference room or copy room. Sarcasm aside, nothing you say can offends him. Perhaps because he never hears you as he is thinking ahead to next thing he needs to say. After meeting his wife at the company picnic or holiday party, you realize she is happy to escape him and schmooze with the other guests. The only events that will remove him from your side are the offer of free food or the arrival of upper management. He never wastes an opportunity to try to curry favor there.

Mr. Collins is the least liked person in the Pride and Prejudice story. "Not the cleverest of men," as Jane said to Elizabeth, "but he is respectable." This is a quote from Pride and Prejudice. Mr. Collins was a thorn in everyone's flesh while being a man of the cloth. It is sad that he met such a demise, but we can blame it on Lady De Bourge who gave them the leg of lamb. I don't recommend it, but it was a bit interesting if you are really interested how Charlotte must have sighed relief for $.99 on my kindle.

If you cringed at the behavior and attitude of Mr. Collins in Pride and Prejudice, you will enjoy this short story. If you wondered at all how Charlotte would endure being wife to such a man, pick up this story.I enjoyed reading this short story very much. I found the dialog and lingo well done and very similar to the classic. There were a few spots where the text seemed too close to the original, but I'm OK with that.This quick read will give you a good look at the author's writing style. Shannon Winslow has written other Jane Austen style books. I enjoyed this short and will read more from this author in the future.

Sometimes we have to make decisions in our life that we may not be excited about, butif you follow what you believe to be right, you can receive a blessing. I think that is what happenedto our friend Charlotte! She felt she didn't have many choices of a husband, so chose who shethought would be tolerable, and she could make happy, and be content herself. I'm tempted to start off by saying "This book is terrible", but I'm aware I can be a little overly blunt since the stroke, so I'll try to give details instead of opinions.I expected a variety of puzzles of varying levels, as would be appropriate to the wide variety of stroke patients of varying abilities who might think they'd benefit from such a book.There were 219 pages of THE SAME SIMPLISTIC WORD PUZZLES, with a couple "coloring pages" thrown in, seemingly as an afterthought. (Sorry, there's my opinion creeping in, along with a negative attitude.)There were no visual puzzles, no math problems, no logic problems, no memory challenges.Word puzzles. Pages and pages of word puzzles.I'm going to stop now. I have a lot of opinions about this book, 99% of which are negative, and will provide no benefit other than venting my anger at the waste of money I experienced when purchasing this book.In my 53 years of collecting, reading, and frankly worshiping hundreds of books, there are only a small handful I've not completed for various reasons such as boredom, bad plot, shameless bias, etc. There are exactly TWO books I have actually thrown into the trash rather than take the risk they'd defile the eyes of another reader. This is one. (The other is Zoo, "by James Patterson" [but really by some newbie, writing under his name], in case you're in the market for another terrible book.)But I'm not a doctor or a stroke therapist, just a survivor. Perhaps there is some hidden purpose for the devastatingly dull repetition found in this book. I apologize for my rant. I'm sure Mr. Toth is a good person with good intentions.

Laugh while you learn! I bought this book for my 82 year old father who suffered from a stroke last year. Physically he was regaining movement of his arms and hands with physical therapy. Still he was having trouble remembering things. His doctor suggested trying "Puzzles for Stroke Patients" to exercise and challenge his mind. Now we do 10 to 12 questions from this book every day and Dad has made tremendous improvements in logic , memory and self-esteem . He actually asks to solve problems from his "Thinking Book" as he calls it. It is wonderful to see him so enthusiastic about learning again. As one of his caregivers, I enjoy the fun and laughable tone of many of the questions and puzzles myself. Dad and I have learned dozens of fun facts from this entertaining resource.A Hollywood, movie star theme is used in much of the book which has us reminiscing about all our all-time favorite movies and famous movie stars. Dad was always a big Elvis fan and the Elvis Presley word search is his favorite. I make copies before we solve each puzzle so that we can do them over again. Humphrey Bogart, John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Elizabeth Taylor, Bette Davis - all of our best loved Hollywood celebrities are there!The Film Trivia pages are great too. We are learning so much. I actually have Dad using the computer again to search the internet for the answers. He was surprisingly good with his desktop before the stroke and now he has an IPad so he can "Google" the missing words in the movie titles, like: Andy Hardy's Private ______. (Go ahead - look it up!)We love remembering old TV Shows. "I Love Lucy", "All in the Family" and "Mash" were shows we never missed. Dad also loves British Comedy and the "Keeping Up Appearances" word search puzzle had me, Dad and his other caregiver, Violet (yes, really) hysterical recollecting the antics of Hyacinth Bucket (Bouquet) and her family.The Art Therapy coloring pages were difficult for Dad at first, even so, he enjoyed the fun traffic signs and strange facts on those pages, like the French sign from Canada about watching out for collisions with moose! Now that his manual dexterity has improved, he whips thru the coloring exercises like a pro.Sudoku number logic puzzles were a big challenge for me and Dad (even before the stroke). To get us started, I look up the answers and fill in several of the 3x3 groups. In the beginning we needed to cheat on about 5 3x3's, but now we are down to only 3. We are working on it!! Dad is certain he will be able to do Sudoku on his own in a matter of weeks.The author of "Puzzles for Stroke Patients" must have travelled extensively in the US and Europe. There are photo picture puzzles from all over globe, including Paris. This book has it all, even the word square puzzles have the added Words of the Wise sayings on each page and the 10 letter word searches also quizzes you on US state capitals. The more Dad and I use this book, the more we love it - it never gets boring - we laugh and learn with clever challenges every day!

As a health care professional working with stroke patients, I feel that these puzzles would only meet the needs of those that were much higher level functioning. A suggestion would be to change the print on the word problems since the very tiny print is not appropriate for many of the older adults where a much larger font size is recommended. I expected a greater variety of items and since there were no sample pages it was quite a surprise to see the content was so repetitive. The concepts were interesting and perhaps you may want to delete the "for stroke patients" so it would be purchased by a more appropriate audience.

The graphics group boasts: humorous coloring pages with letter outlines and picture puzzles.Working with art therapy coloring pages is essential for fine motor skills recovery which are necessary for writing and other everyday activities.Solutions are provided for all puzzles either at the bottom of page in reverse or at the end of the book. The only exception is Word Search. If the patient does not find a word in a Word Search grid, caregiver or family members should help out.

This is close to the 'bible,' for boaters. It is filled with information on virtually every aspect of small boat use, small boat a relative term including what I would call large boats that are owner driven. Not quite up to professional operator level perhaps.I first used older versions of this book for commercial fishing in Alaska around late 1960s. This version is of similar caliber, plus a lot of additions over the older ones.Perhaps because I didn't grow up with GPS, the book seems as if it could use a little more detail on this subject. Especially so in view of it's large size.Every boat owner, from small outboards to large multi engine multi prop craft, can benefit from this volume, and should be close to mandatory for even larger outboards.

I learned so much from this many years ago when I first became a boat owner. So I was pleased to see this updated edition when I wanted a gift for my son and his wife, because of their recent purchase of a 33' sailboat. They are reading the spots off of it already. He has Bowditch's book also, but Chapman is so much more readable and useful overall for navigation, safety and maintenance.

The new edition is up to date in all of the areas I have checked so far. Technology is current and the color pictures, graphs, and a lot to the understanding to the "why to I have to know this stuff." If in need of a book on Seamanship, I'd definitely recommend to having this as part of your marine reference material. The Cursed Series by Rebecca Donovan is one readers don’t want to miss. The release of Part 1 and Part 2 are taking the reading and blogger world by storm. All who have read the book are praising the series and begging for the next two installments, myself included. This series grabbed my attention within the first few pages and held me captive through both parts. Although this series is considered mature YA geared for the 16 and up age group, I think this series steps out of it’s “specified genre”. It will appeal to all readers because of it’s mature content mixed with intrigue, mystery, and romance while still capturing the freshness of youthful optimism. The writing is superb. The plot is delivered in an interesting and subtle way by blending two worlds together in an unique way. The main characters are defined by their strongest virtue which is also their biggest weakness and flaw. Their personal curse is what propels and defines each of their roles within this story.Pay attention to the headers at the beginning of each chapter in both Part One and Part Two. Part One is the perspective from Lana’s grandmother. Part two is from a fairytale story. All of these chapter headers propel the story in a new direction.Part One – If I’d KnownThe readers are introduced to Lana, the narrator of The Cursed series. Lana has been brought up to believe that virtues are the curses that destroy lives. She’s the only child of a single mother who conceived her at a young age. They were abandoned by the baby daddy before she was born. Her mother has spent her life searching for love and happily ever after. Her search has left Lana somewhat emotionally neglected. Lana was mostly raised by her grandmother until she passed away.Her life experiences have taught her that virtues are the downfall for everyone she has loved. They are all defined by their Virtue.Lana becomes a part of the Blackwood life even though she misses her friends from her old life. She is learning that people are people no matter where she goes. OMG!!! I’m not going to lie. I spent so much time going back and rereading parts because I was confused about what was happening. Pay attention and don’t get lost.This book is amazing. So many plot twists.That ending though.OMG!!!! That ENDING 😱😱😱Rebecca did amazing on this and I’m so excited that I got to read this. This book was enthralling.

The cover caught my eye and the story drew me in. Wow! Can I have Parts 3 & 4 now? Cause, wow! I had a hard time putting this book down. Suspense, mystery, and twists I never saw coming kept me up late reading. Rebecca Donovan has written a beautiful story. The characters have depth and dimension. Bringing real emotion into the story.I will be having a serious book hangover. Join me in having one and read The Cured Parts 1& 2. I recommend it.

Went in blind not knowing anything about the story of the author. Have to say the ride was bumpy. In book one getting to know Lana Peri, a little young feisty girl who loves with her whole self (mind, body, & soul). She finds herself in more difficult situations which carry over into book two. More characters and culprits are introduced and than bam! She leaves you hanging until God knows when the next book is due out! Shit!

This was my first Rebecca Donovan read and I am seriously impressed. From the beginning your attention is grasped. What an intense ride, there were quite a few moments where I was on the edge of my seat. This unique story takes you on quite the roller coaster. I can not wait for the rest of this story. ABSOLUTELY a must read!!!

It felt like a watt pad story. I felt like it lacked potential and story when you read further on. I’m sorry. I could not finish it. That would be too much. I just wished this book was more fun.

This book kept me on my toes! I can't wait for parts 3&4! It's a great book and she does an amazing job!
