This is the third volume of The Library of Wisdom and Compassion.The essence of the first volume is the principle of the three main Buddhist practices: fortunate rebirth; liberation and; full awakening.The second volume allow the comprehension of emptiness which is the essence of Buddhism. The second volume also gives informations of great significance about karma and its effects.The third volume gives relevant information about the four noble truths and the twelve links which are important for the practice. It also describes Buddha nature and nirvana.Of course these three books contain much more important informations than those mentioned in this comment; I am just emphasizing what is, in my opinion, the relevant essence.To better comprehend this third volume, the reader needs to read the first two volumes and “Advice on Dying“, “The Universe in a Single Atom“, “How to Practice“,“Essence of the Heart Sutra“ and “Stages of Meditation“ — also written by the Dalai Lama.Finally, to understand the essence of Buddhism, it is necessary to study and practice. Some informations are not written; they are acquired by intuition caused by adequate practice. This is the reason why these books are directed to practitioners.

Love the first 2 in this series & looking forward to getting into this book. I am a practicing Buddhist for over 10 years. I have had other literature along these lines which were difficult to read & understand, but that is not the case here. As with many by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama this series is very understandable & helps me to understand my love of Buddhism. Please read & enjoy. I will recommend this series from Amazon.

I think Mr. Das has done a wonderful job of distilling the sacred teachings and dispensing them in a form that is understood by even simplest of laymen. It is a must read for all adherents to the Kabir Panth and to other realized individuals seeking clarity on living a life filled with Love.

Required reading for anyone interested in the words of Kabir.

Most people have no doubt not heard of the Kabir Panth. The Brahm Nirupan is one of the texts of this faith, which has a fairly large number of adherents in India, and among the Indian community abroad. In thinking of this translation by Dr. Jagessar Das, the introduction by Dr. Dimock to Bhagavad Gita As It Is came to mind, where Prof. Dimock states that this was a Gita translation by one who actually believes it, and that this is legitimate. While one can raise questions from a secular historical perspective about whether the Brahm Nirupan is authentic, or early or late, and for instance whether it was created at a later date to systematize and sort of back-validate the Kabir Panth, the current translation, probably the first in English, offers us the religion's philosophy and practice, which have been studied by scholars like Keay before, but from an insider's viewpoint.No one can question the translator's dedication as he is a retired MD who does this on his own time and runs a very nice website of the Kabir Association of Canada, (he will personally answer your emails) and I recommend the paper edition to anyone interested as well, because I have purchased some of his other books and they are all printed on excellent high-quality paper and feature readable English, which one sometimes doesn't find in some translations by Indians of their texts. Mark Costanzo received his Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of California at Santa Cruz. He is a professor of psychology at Claremont McKenna College and a member of the plenary faculty at Claremont Graduate University. In 2008, he was the winner of the Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring Award from the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI), and in 2010, he received the Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring Award from the American Psychology-Law Society (APLS).Daniel Krauss completed a joint degree program in psychology and law at the University of Arizona, receiving his J.D. and then his Ph.D. in clinical psychology and psychology, policy, and law. He is a professor at Claremont McKenna College, and is a plenary faculty member at Claremont Graduate University. Professor Krauss is primarily interested in the interaction of law and clinical psychology, and has published a large number of research articles and book chapters relating to clinical psychological evaluations for the courts, legal and psychological expertise, and jury decision-making. One of the few textbooks I've been required to read that I actually like. It has great examples of cases over the years so you get an inside look at things. It's extremely well written and I actually feel like I'm learning a lot. It's not boring or dry, and it's an exciting read. Great textbook!

Came here looking for the 2nd edition, which is what is advertised if you look at hardcover options. If you click on e-textbook options, it only shows the Canadian version. I should have looked more closely, I searched for the book I needed and once I found it, I clicked on the digital format and completed my purchase. This is not the same book.

When I opened the box the book was in, I was shocked to see the hard cover was ripped off and hanging by a thread. I was afraid to open it but It was ok on the inside. It should have been in the poor or very very used session.I used this book for college. The price was ok but not sure I will use this source again. :(

Before reading this textbook I had a lot of misconceptions about forensic psychology, especially as regards profiling. This book gave me a better understanding of this and more.

When the book arrived it smelled entirely like an ashtray. While I was advised by customer service that I could return the book and purchase another, this didn’t work for me as I needed it for class and could not wait.

I had to buy this book for an introductory course to legal psychology. This book is very well written, it is very engaging and covers all the main theories and cocepts related to Forensic and Legal Psychology.Once you open a page to a chapter YOU WILL NOT WANT TO PUT IT DOWN.

I was required to read this book for a class and I can honestly say this is the only textbook I have read start to finish and it held my interest. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a better grasp on psychology, also anyone interested in family law or forensic law. The text is very easy to understand, there are a lot of pictures and diagrams and explanations of key words.

It was really nice to read the various aspects of French life and their passion for creating a very warm environment at home. Even though I have a townhouse, it gave me ideas on how to rearrange my lamps and vases and grouping them together and even what to put on my table. I'm not gifted in decorating but the ideas she gave as to how the French decorate their homes was easy to apply to my own "mansion." It was fun reading it and I thoroughly enjoyed. When I told others about it, they wanted to read it too. Even my 10 year old nephew who is very much into homes, borrowed it. He's very gifted in the arts. It's nice to know that the book appealed to him.

MacLachlan has created an interesting addition to the library of books on French style. She includes interesting and helpful sections describing various styles of furniture, types of cheese, and the like. It also has good ideas for those of us not in the megabucks decorating league.

I was afraid that this book would be too over the top for an average decorator like me---but it wasn't!The author has done a wonderful job at showing the reader all the various FRENCH styles:.... not only the more classic French styles, but also the more natural (Cottage) French style of decorating.I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I will certainly refer to this book over and over again.

Do not miss this book! Contains excellent ideas.

Great fun! 20 images to discover by connecting the dots plus two bonus images from other books in the series. I love that for the most part the images are not obvious before the dots are connected. I hate to admit that I also appreciate the larger numbers in this book, but as a bifocal wearing woman of a certain age it's just a fact. They are definitely easier to see than those in other adult dot to dot books I have seen, but not so big that connecting them isn't still a challenge. I would rate this as a medium difficulty collection. It would be a great introduction to connecting the dots for someone who is looking for something a little different than coloring books and the images can still be colored. I think dot to dots are a great stress relief tool because you have to slow down and pay attention. I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest, unbiased review and I am happy to say would definitely recommend this book or buy it for for a friend.

I really enjoyed this book. The pictures really look like a picture when you are finished. I have Parkinson's, so I use these to work on hand control. Of course, I have to use a straight edge. I would recommend these for children and adults. However, my old eyes could use the numbers to be a little larger.

Very relaxing. If you want to just sit and be mindless for a few moments open this book and start with number one and go till you end on the last number and reveal the picture. you make a picture and when you’re finished you are feeling a little more relaxed then when you started.

I love this book! It reminds me of childhood. Such a fun easy exercise to do just to pass the time. I like the variety of images. I'm sending this as a Christmas gift to several friends this year!

This is suppose to be large print, its not. Some numbers are missing or their some numbers that are duplicated. Don't waste your money I would never recommend this book

I’ve gotten Dot to dot books that you can’t read the tiny numbers. This is much more enjoyable, easier to read and easier to find the next number. Would highly recommend this book.

I ordered this for my son who is legally blind, so he can't use it. I had to put on my readers to see the numbers, and I don't wear glasses!

Contained several places where the numbers were duplicated in places and in some cases, no dots by the numbers! I found that most of the puzzles in one of the books were repeated in the other, just had different covers and titles. However, I still have had fun doing the puzzles.
