I loved the player....but as an autobiographer, the book seemed overly detailed early and shallow in the last half to a third of it. Too much flowerly language throughout and the short chapters did nothing to better move the story. I yearned for stories about his relationships with teammates....players we fans all know. But much of it was glossed over. A bit disappointing, but worth a Kindle buy.

It brought back so many memories, reading this book. I grew up and came of age during Doc's playing days, and watching his games on television or at the Spectrum inspired me to go out and hit the court. He was/is and always will be my favorite player. Dr J led pro basketball to heights of popularity that it had never seen before, even during the Chamberlain and Russell era.He had a great professional life and a tough-tragic at I times personal life; he rose up and persevered through humility, honesty and hard work. This book is another class act, as is the Doctor.

I followed Dr. J when he became a member of the Philadelphia 76rs and watched the wars with Boston, Lakers and many others. His fearless dunks over those much taller than he were amazing. His autobiography was very heart warming and I deeply respected the truthfulness of it especially the fights he had with his former wife Turquoise. Dr. J succumb to what many star athletes do and that's women. These women literally throw themselves at these guys and for many, the temptation is too great so a lot of them wind up having children by different women and pay for it through child support for years to come and may never even see the child. Great book!

I thought that Dr. J was supposed to be a Christian but I don't believe that after reading this book. He spends a lot of time discussing his sex life and basically bragging about all the women he had. I was also surprised by the vulgar language which included numerous F-bombs. I no longer admire Julius and will be selling my Erving jersey and bobblehead.

I picked this up after seeing Dr. J on The Colbert Report. I was so happily surprised - I know there's smart athletes out there and I've read material from others in the past, but still it's a nice experience to dive into a book and find it well written with a good voice that lets you feel the growth of a star athlete from his earliest years. Growing up, I knew of The Doctor, and I'm sure I watched him play countless times, but I didn't know a ton about him - so for me this was a great introduction to how he changed the sport, as well as his life off the court.I'll be recommending this book to a lot of folks.

I know everybody says MJ is the GOAT & rightfully so but my GOAT will always be Dr J. Growing up in Philly & watching the Nets & then he came to my town to play out his career was amazing for me to see. I wanted to me like the doctor. Enough said

I remember reading a library book about Dr.J when I was a kid and as an adult, I hoped he would write an autobiography. I enjoyed it and I'm glad I read it. it was great reliving his days on the court. it was also interesting reading about his life off the court. He certainly wrote a honest book even when being honest revealed bad decisions that he made in his personal life. he didn't hold back. His book is definitely worth the read and it takes you back in time to where he cemented himself as one of the greatest to ever play the game.

Very interesting book.... I had no idea that my all time favorite player was so conservative.... oh well, still a good read

And for the Mageri fans out there, she has added Christian Poe from that series, into the mix as a major character.Raven is what is known as a rogue. She is undocumented as far as the Mage world is concerned and wants nothing to do with the vampire side of her heritage. Since she has no standing in the Breed world she can’t work, so she has to scrounge for meals and shelter. She is making it her business to take out the worst of the worst Breed criminals. She gets nothing but the satisfaction of taking one more bad guy out of the world. She has no idea that she is making waves with the criminal element in the breed world. When she is approached by an underground group named, Keystone, to come work with them, she jumps at the chance to finally have a home and get paid for what she already does.Raven is already a good character. She is so real, flawed, but down deep a good person. She’s got snark and a bit of an attitude, and at times she isn’t the best at taking orders. She’s been a rogue for a long time. Now it’s time for her to learn to play well with others. Will that happen? I can’t wait to see how all that goes as the series progresses. Christian is a member of Keystone and a vampire. He was enigmatic, with a side of bad boy in the Mageri series, but with this book, we see another side of him. Oh, he still has his mysteries, but we do get to see a different Christian. This Christian is more than a little attracted to Raven, and she to him, but he doesn’t believe that he has a capacity to love. Wouldn’t matter anyway, as they are not allowed to be together due to the Keystone rules. There’s also interesting and finely drawn peripheral characters that were part of the Keystone group and I enjoyed getting to know them as well.I am not going to go any farther into the story due to spoilers. I will say that this book is full of life and death moments and plenty of action. To me, the pacing was pretty perfect and the writing outstanding, as always with this authors work. The action was balanced with the moments of Raven going through the whirlwind of finding a new life. And possibly the chance for a bit of romance with Christian? Only time will tell. I am already chomping at the bit for the next book.The author has told us to expect twists and turns in this series and I can’t wait to see where it’s all going. I have a feeling it’s going to be quite the ride and I am excited about the whole thing.Highly recommended to adult urban fantasy, and paranormal romance readers may enjoy this as well.

Keystone is a spin off of the Mageri series in that it takes you into the same breed world. Raven is another strong, capable female lead characters that are prevalent in Dark's work. I felt frustrated that Raven seemed to struggle so much. She was impoverished, homeless, friendless. She did not know and was never taught how to use the gifts was given. When she meets up with the Keystone group, it appears she has found her niche. Unfortunately, she also has some self defeating characteristics that make team work a challenge for her. Watching her develop bonds and get to know herself better was a treat. Her attraction to her partner, Christian Poe, was a new level of frustration. Not wanting to give away too much, but I am sure the story will continue to grow and develop in future installments. All the characters were well developed and intriguing. I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next.

This book is written in the same world as her other two series, The Mageri and The Seven series.Raven Black, a rare Crossbreed, is a homeless rogue; she cannot register with either Breed to become legal because of her other half Breed. I stead she uses public bathrooms, bars, empty dumpsters, and diners for food, cleaning up, and sleeping. She goes to Breed bars to charm Breed into feeding her when she can't afford it- and tries to charm Christian Poe into giving her onion rings. But he does t fall for it. When she sees Breed killing, she feels she needs to right the wrong and kills the guilty party, but doesn't know how to use her Breed gifts because she's been abandoned.One night while sitting in her spot at a diner, a gentleman offers her a card with the promise of more- a place to shelter, even call home. A sort of legal status. And companions.She tries it out- only to be partnered with Christian- a vampire who is untrustworthy, and who doesn't trust her either. Can they make it work?This book, the first of the Keystone series, was a great first book to introduce all the characters and the different Breed in the Keystone house. I really enjoyed the sexual tension love=hate that Raven a d Christian have for one another. It's going to be especially tricky when they have to work together in the future. I can't wait until the next book comes out!If you're not familiar with Dannika Dark's other urban supernatural fantasy series, The Mageri and The Seven series, you may want to read them first, as you would get more out of this series if you understand the city of Cognito, the different Breed, what they are, how they live, and what their gifts are. Christian Poe is a vampire in The Mageri series. If you want to know what he did before he arrived at Keystone, that's a good place to begin.

The main character is an idiot. She makes horrible decisions constantly. Her group is trying to follow the bad guy and get info on him. What she do? Walk up and tell him she’s watching him. That will show him!She’s in a group with people hundreds of years older than her and the new girl but they all follow her orders. She gets put on probation then immediately does what she’s not supposed to do. Why would they keep her?She’s half vampire and half mage. Does she try to even learn anything about herself? No just stumbles around blindly. She talks like she’s a bad a@@ but is constantly getting smacked around.If your going to make a character super powerful don’t make them an idiot too

In the description of this book it says it is for 8 - 11 years.. While the reading level is just fine for children of these ages, I would not say at all that the book is just for kids. I'm retired and I found it very interesting. Anyone who is concerned in the future of our planet would enjoy this book about one of the pioneers and her quest to save it.

Absolutely fantastic! A must read for all ages. I am not a tree-hugger, but this book does a great job of highlighting the importance of recycling.I bought a copy for my nieces and another copy which I donated to my local library.Well written with footnotes, and index and citations to other sources. (Teachers: check this out!)

Great story about a remarkable woman from Sauk County, Wisconsin who changed the world by convincing the Society of Plastics Industry (SPI) to adopt a triangle with numbers in the middle to identify the plastic used to make the product it was on. This made large scale plastics recycling possible.

This story is very inspiring, not only for youth, but also for adults! I would recommend this book to readers of all ages. It is well written, motivating and informative. I hope this finds its way to libraries and classrooms. Milly was marvelous!

The 1,000 Spanish words audiobook is helping me to learn a lot of vocabulary words. The 99 Spanish conversations is also improving my vocabulary while improving my listening comprehension in Spanish. The 150 Spanish idioms is probably more for entertainment. I doubt that I will ever use these Spanish expressions but it is still great to know and understand them in case I ever hear a Spanish speaker say them.I don't think I'll be using what I am learning in the Romantic Spanish Words and Phrases audiobook. LOL. But still very fun to listen to. But I must say that I am really enjoying the Spanish blunders audiobook. I wish it was longer. The Spanish blunders audiobook is too short and left me wanting to hear more because it was so helpful in teaching me to avoid lots of Spanish mistakes that English speakers commonly make when speaking Spanish.Considering what I paid for the 9 audible books, I must say that I got my money's worth. By the way, I also have Patrick Jackson's Learn Beginner Spanish Bundle and I will say that this 3 in 1 audiobook (actually 9 in 1 audiobook) and Patrick Jackson's Learn Beginner Spanish Bundle work hand in hand.

Although the first book in this bundle is a book for learning Spanish words and phrases, in other words, a vocabulary builder, it's better than all or the majority of the other products I have bought that teach Spanish vocabulary words and phrases. What separates this one from the others is that not only is there a pause to repeat the Spanish word but there is also a pause to repeat the Spanish phrase.To most this probably sounds like a very small feature or a minor distinction from the other Spanish vocabulary audiobooks which do not have those pauses. But these small differences are helping me to correct my pronunciation in Spanish and make my Latin American Spanish accent sound so much better. The 99 Conversations Spanish audios and the Spanish idioms audios are extra-value-added bonuses for me. I'd be 100% satisfied with this audiobook even if it didn't include anything more than the 1,000 Spanish words and phrases audiobook.

I am very impressed with this audiobook. There is more than enough content to keep you busy for a while. In fact there are over 15 hours of recorded Spanish lessons, covering everything from the 1,000 most common Spanish words and phrases, 99 actual Spanish conversations, common Spanish expressions and sayings, Romantic words and phrases in Spanish. There are even tips on how to avoid common Spanish blunders. One thing that really stands out is that it has helped me with my pronunciation in Spanish.

The audiobook is a steal. Or as one would say in Spanish "un robo" (a steal) LOL. And I say that because there are so many audiobooks included. I really feel that I got my money's worth. Actually Iím still getting my money's worth since it will take me weeks or even months to finish all of these audiobooks. There is even a PDF (transcript) thatís included with the audiobook.

GREAT BUNDLE!I took 3 years of Spanish in high school... .well that was in the 80's, and now I've literally forgotten most of it, as I don't have very much opportunity to use it.THIS BUNDLE fit the trick nicely!
