The Book is a complete implementable package. Lots of books have lots of tricks but when we really try them, its difficult to implement but the observations included in this book can easily be used. A must have for mathematics lovers and those who are preparing for competitive exams. Nice efforts by author.
Be a Human Calculator is (as one would predict from the title) a Math book. I was interested in finding out if it could deliver and I was quite surprised with the material inside.The language is fairly simple (even if you’re from a social science field) and it’s easy to understand how it works. Obviously, it won’t replace a calculator but you get to learn a few amounts of tricks that will ease the process and make arithmetic a lot more simple to do. Rajesh Sarwast was a respected Mathematics teacher, so he knows what he’s talking about. There’s also something about the language used that reminds you that he used to teach. Mathematics can be scary, but in this book, it sounds more like a game or a competition, so it is quite entertaining for anyone who’s into brain teasers and logic games.
Be A Human Calculator by Rajesh Sarswat makes math easy. In a nutshell, you will quickly learn to do math calculations like never before. Many people claim to be a human calculator, but few actually are; if you are struggling with serious math exams, or just want to brush up on your math, this is the perfect. With a table of contents at the beginning of the book, Sarswat lays out what to expect in the book. This in itself is a handy reference. He begins with the more simple calculations that even the novice can appreciate and moves on to more hardcore math problems for serious math aficionados. This is a must read if you are preparing for any type of intensive math exam, but will help those who are looking to brush on their math skills as well. This is also a great book to refer to over and over again. Highly recommend.
Some may find this book useless - who needs to find the square root of 34,284? But this book can actually make all the difference in passing that difficult class or doing better at work. Be a human calculator is all about training your brain to solve those equations that you once thought you needed a calculator for. The information is presented in an easy to understand way that makes is possible to digest the material, often times this is unlike traditional math books.If you are struggling to pass a math class or find yourself in a career that requires you to think on your feet, this book can be a game changer in how you think about math. Put the calculator away and begin solving equations on your own time.
This is a math book for students who have already learned the basics, but want to be able to get to the answers in a way without as much writing and calculating on paper. I would not recommend it to students who are struggling with the basics in fact finding as they need a strong foundation before they can benefit from these strategies and methods. These are not tricks to impress peers (though it might). These are patterns and strategies that can give math students a way of solving for answers without writing out long problems in small spaces. It can shorten time which can be an advantage during testing and assessments. There are strategies for basic math like adding and subtracting, but also ways to identify percentages and square root. Even algebra like factoring polynomials and solving equations have methods that are clearly explained and diagrammed step by step without being too lengthy or boring or even over the heads of students. Every method comes with an exercise portion to practice these strategies at a variety of difficulties. There is also a time frame given for the exercises so that students can see if they can complete them using the calculator in their heads. As mentioned before, students with a good understanding of math concepts can benefit, if not enjoy, this book and its methods. Gifted students can try it out the methods to see if they work consistently and if they can improve their time from traditional practices.
I am not very strong at maths and my enthusiasm for the subject is very low. So, with my dislike and weakness in maths I tried to be very open-minded while reading this book. Reading about maths in “Being a Human Calculator†was easy to follow. There were tips and shortcuts to help you digest and understand formulas and intricate workings. Of course, you must have a strong foundation in the workings of maths to be able to master the techniques. The book is also more geared to those who participate in competitions as the tips help you to increase speed and accuracy. I think for those who must master maths this book would be most helpful.
A wonderful book that I will reread many times!! I am a student and I love math, but I have always had a problem with a quick count of difficult equations. The book "Be a Human Calculator" is a real discovery for me. I read with pleasure and could not stop. All examples of algebraic equations are well and simply explained, you don’t need to be a math teacher to understand how to do it.Rajesh Sarswat is a true professional, and I am very pleased to read and learn new knowledge of a person who has spent many years of his life creating his own technique.I believe that by reading the “Be a Human Calculator†I’ve got useful skills and will improve them. Thanks to the author for such a unique work and for giving students and ordinary people a “key†to mathematics. I recommend everyone to read the book! I have a desire now to read other books by the author.
