I have been interested in this topic ever since my college years when I was told that the baby boomer generation would retire and change everything. That was seventeen years ago and I can see the changes that have occurred over the years. This book provided the answers to many of my questions and gave me insights as to how I should proceed in the near future to be prepared for a total crash in the economy.I can tell by reading this book that the author is an expert in the field and really knows what he is talking about. I also find it amazing how one generation like the baby boomer generation can have such an impact as they go from their youth and working years to retired adults.Here are some of the details that I especially liked in the book. Baby boomers, in youth there is an increase demand, which equals supply shortages and economic inflation. In old age they retire and consume less causing a downward adjustment in the economy and deflationary pressures set in.It is as simple as that. Facts like these have been known by economists for years, so why is it a shock when there is a recession? Why are people so surprised by poor economies when all the signs have been there for years? There will be no surprises and no shocks after reading this book.
Great resource and guide for those of us who have invested in the stock market. A great read, backed up by facts and personal insight as to why the stock market is expected to crash this year. It takes in the many factors that contribute to the fluctuation of the stock market and how to better predict what is to come. I like the fact that it guides you on what is best to do in each situation. A great, informative read!
This short book is reminiscent of Harry Dent, but is written in a less self-promotional and more level-headed and reasoned way. Which is to say that I found it a more satisfying read, even though the message is far from reassuring. The author puts a serious difficulty before us, one that we can't avoid, without offering any facile solutions.
simple logic, but it makes its point and can't really be that far off.
Very good book and easy to follow. Wish it had a little more details. Worth every penny though.
Hesitant about single variable relationship results
good insight into demographics and how they effect markets
You would think an author predicting the next great depression effective immediately would build his case over hundreds of pages, not a handful. How about a few specifics on the demographics that supposedly are bringing on this disaster. Looks more like someone trying to cash in on a hot topic.
