About the Author
Jonanna Widner was born in Fort Worth and raised on a steady diet of Tex-Mex, barbecue ribs, and the Dallas Cowboys. She spent her teenage years cruising down I-30 to Dallas, spending many late nights obsessing over local bands in Deep Ellum and, occasionally, on Greenville Avenue. Such obsession continued well into her college career at Austin College in Sherman, a mere hour north of Dallas—this time I-75 was the conduit into the city's rock 'n' roll epicenter. After graduating, she remained in Sherman, soaking up the North Texas sun as a sportswriter for the local paper.Like many a Texan, she was lured to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she spent several years getting a master's degree and then working for the alt-weekly Santa Fe Reporter. But the Lone Star State still beckoned, and Jonanna returned to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where she works as a freelance writer and editor, with her work appearing in many national publications. She continues to eat Tex-Mex and barbecue, curse Jerry Jones, and obsess over local music.

Enough good info to keep one busy for a long time!
Great Book.
Top Tens are much better but there is not one covering Dallas & Fort Worth
Disappointing. This book was very general. All information was things that could easily be pulled up on any top 10 internet search. Many places of interest did not include an address, price or hours. Would have also liked to have seen off-beat places, more historical background, and tips such as regarding best times and things to avoid (other than avoid the hot summer).
Although I have had great luck with the Access books, I chose this one based on the reviews. I wish I had gone with my gut. The coverage of Fort Worth and Dallas was very superficial...just enough to get you to the visitor's center where you could get much better information. There was scant mention of the suburbs, some of which we liked better than Dallas and Fort worth. The maps were quite good however to give the big picture. If this book was more inclusive in its next edition, if has the potential be great. That's just my humble opinion.
This is the BEST travel book I've read in many years! If you are planning a trip to the Dallas/Fort Worth area anytime soon, don't go without it. It also makes a great gift for someone living in the area. Know anyone going to the Super Bowl next year?
Excellent Dallas-Fort Worth area guide to attractions with good recommendations. By including addresses, we could enter the planned attractions into our Garmin GPS which will go with us in the rental car. The web site and phone references are very beneficial.
